Inside Alpha Green
Alpha Green is India's first comprehensive low-carbon concrete product line with verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Cement is responsible for ~8% of global CO₂ emissions. By replacing 30-60% of cement with industrial byproducts (GGBS from steel mills, fly ash from coal power plants), we reduce concrete's carbon footprint dramatically while delivering equivalent or superior performance.
The science is well-established. GGBS and fly ash are pozzolanic materials that, when combined with cement, hydrate to form additional cementitious gel. They reduce heat of hydration, increase long-term strength, improve durability, and dramatically lower carbon footprint. The challenge is engineering optimal blends for each application — strength gain timing, workability, finishing characteristics all change with replacement levels.
What makes Alpha Green different from generic "blended cement" concrete is verification. We publish project-specific EPDs computing actual CO₂ per cubic meter for each mix. Independent verification through third-party certification. Lifecycle assessment per ISO 14040/14044. LEED v4.1 contributing. IGBC compliant. For builders chasing LEED Platinum or IGBC ratings, Alpha Green is mandatory.

Built for net-zero construction
Verified through EPD per mix design. Reference: 350 kg CO₂/m³ for OPC concrete vs 175 kg CO₂/m³ for Alpha Green M40 (50% GGBS).
GGBS up to 60%, Fly Ash up to 40%, depending on grade and application. Tested mix designs verified for performance.
Third-party certified per ISO 14025 and EN 15804. Carbon footprint, primary energy, water usage, waste generation all documented.
Contributes to MR Credit 5 (Building Product Disclosure & Optimization) and IEQ optimization. Documentation provided for LEED submission.
Designed for IGBC Green Building rating system. Documentation for IGBC submission. Project-specific certification support.
Equivalent strength to conventional concrete. Equivalent or better durability. Equivalent workability with adjusted admixtures. Tested across all grades.

Resources by role
- Use Alpha Green for LEED/IGBC certification, ESG-driven sustainability, government green mandates, marketing-driven sustainability positioning.
- Lead time: Standard 24-hour notice. EPD documentation 3-5 days for project-specific reports.
- Pricing: 5-15% premium over standard concrete. Often offset by LEED credit value, ESG positioning, and carbon credit potential.
- BOQ: "M[X] low-carbon RMC with verified EPD, IS 456:2000 + ISO 14025. SCM replacement ≥30%. CO₂ footprint ≤[X] kg/m³ per project EPD. From Alpha Concrete with EPD certification."
- Mix design code: AC-GR-[Grade]
- Documentation: Mix-specific EPD, GGBS/fly ash MTC, lifecycle assessment summary, LEED contribution statement, IGBC compliance statement.
- On receipt: Standard slump test. Verify temperature.
- Placement: Standard. Concrete may have slightly slower strength gain.
- Curing: CRITICAL. Minimum 14-21 days. SCM concrete continues hydrating to 56-90 days; early cure-out reduces ultimate strength.
- Cube testing: Standard frequency. Note 28-day result reflects strength gain in progress (continued gain expected).
