    Inside Alpha Flow

    Alpha Flow is self-compacting concrete (SCC) — concrete that places itself. Pour it into the formwork and it flows under its own weight, fills every void around dense reinforcement, and self-levels with a perfect surface finish. No vibration. No human compaction. No risk of honeycombing.

    The science: high powder content (cement + SCM + filler), viscosity-modifying admixture (VMA) preventing segregation, polycarboxylate ether superplasticizer for fluidity. The mix passes through L-box, J-ring, and V-funnel tests per EFNARC guidelines. Slump flow 600-750mm. Segregation resistance verified.

    When site conditions demand it — congested rebar where vibration can't reach, architectural exposed surfaces requiring perfect finish, prefabricated elements in molds, or simply the desire to eliminate vibration noise and labor — Alpha Flow performs. It costs more than conventional concrete (premium 15-25%) but eliminates honeycomb risk entirely.

    // Why Alpha Flow

    Built for complex placements

    Self-compacting (no vibration)

    Flows under its own weight. Fills congested rebar zones. Self-levels with smooth surface. No mechanical compaction required.

    Slump flow 600-750mm

    Verified per EFNARC SCC 1, 2, or 3 class. Project-specific slump flow targets defined by application.

    V-funnel time 8-12 sec

    Verified flowability without segregation. Standard test per EFNARC. Result on every batch ticket.

    L-box passing ability ≥0.85

    Verified passing through congested rebar (3-bar L-box test). Demonstrates concrete fills behind tightly spaced bars.

    High powder content with VMA

    500-550 kg/m³ powder (cement + SCM + filler). Viscosity-modifying admixture prevents segregation. Stable rheology.

    Complex geometry capable

    Architectural columns with patterns. Curved walls. Decorative surfaces. Prefabricated elements with intricate details.

    // Where it's used

    Built for these projects

    Architectural Columns & Walls

    Exposed concrete walls, decorative columns, sculptural elements. Where finish quality is non-negotiable.

    Congested Reinforcement Zones

    Beam-column junctions, transfer slab edges, dense shear walls. Where vibration cannot reach all areas.

    Prefabricated & Precast Elements

    Casting yards. Prefabricated façade panels. Mass-produced architectural elements. Mold-cast elements requiring perfect surface.

    Decorative & Specialty Elements

    Sound-absorbing walls. Acoustic panels. Sculpted public spaces. Where concrete is the visual statement.

    // Who should specify

    Resources by role

    For Builders & Developers
    • Use Alpha Flow when finish quality matters: exposed concrete, architectural features, prefabricated elements.
    • Or when vibration is impractical: congested rebar, deep narrow elements, complex molds.
    • Lead time: 5-7 days for trial mix. Approved by structural consultant before commencement.
    • Pricing: 15-25% premium over conventional grade. Cost offset by elimination of vibration labor and honeycomb risk.
    For Structural Consultants
    • BOQ: "M[X] grade SCC, IS 456:2000 + EFNARC. Slump flow 600-750mm. V-funnel 8-12s. L-box ≥0.85. Segregation resistant. From Alpha Concrete or equivalent. SCC test results recorded per TM."
    • Mix design code: AC-FL-[Grade]
    • Documentation: Trial mix results, EFNARC test data per batch, mix design certificate, MTCs.
    For Site Engineers
    • On receipt: Slump flow (600-750mm), V-funnel (8-12s), L-box (≥0.85). Record on batch ticket.
    • Placement: Pour from low height (<1m). No vibration. Allow to flow naturally. Multiple discharge points for large pours.
    • Finish: Self-levels. Minimal finishing required.
    • Curing: Minimum 14 days. Critical for surface durability.
