    Inside Alpha Rapid

    Alpha Rapid is engineered for projects where time is the constraint. Achieves 70% of design strength at 3 days. Enables formwork stripping in days, not weeks. Critical for fast-track construction, prestressed elements, bridge piers, infrastructure deadlines, and stressed concrete applications.

    The mechanism: higher cement content (typically 20-30% above conventional), accelerator admixture chemistry, careful temperature control, and sometimes specialty cement (rapid hardening cement per IS 8041 or premium OPC 53 grade with optimized particle size). The trade-offs are real — slightly higher cost, more thermal hydration, careful placement scheduling — but the time savings dramatically reduce overall project cost.

    We've used Alpha Rapid on critical infrastructure deadlines. A bridge pier where contractor lost 3 weeks to monsoon. A metro station construction where political deadlines mattered. A prestressed precast yard where production schedule was the constraint. In each case, Alpha Rapid bought back time that conventional concrete couldn't.

    // Why Alpha Rapid

    Built for speed without compromise

    70% strength at 3 days

    Compared to 40% for standard concrete at 3 days. Verified through 3-day cube testing on every batch.

    Early formwork stripping

    Slabs spanning 4.5m: 3-4 days vs 7 days. Beam soffit: 5 days vs 10 days. Significant schedule acceleration.

    Special accelerator admixture

    Calcium chloride-free accelerators (no chloride attack on rebar). Set time control without compromising long-term performance.

    Higher cement content

    20-30% higher cement content for early hydration. Premium OPC 53 cement with optimized fineness.

    Heat-monitored early curing

    Higher heat of hydration requires careful curing. Recommended thermocouple monitoring and adjusted curing protocol.

    Tested for early strength

    3-day cube samples in addition to 7-day and 28-day. Strength gain certified per batch.

    // Where it's used

    Built for these projects

    Fast-Track Projects

    Tight construction schedules. Government infrastructure deadlines. Pre-monsoon completion targets.

    Prestressed Concrete Elements

    Pretensioned beams, post-tensioned slabs, prestressed bridges. Where early strength is structural requirement.

    Bridge Piers & Infrastructure

    Bridge construction, metro projects, infrastructure projects with sequenced work fronts.

    Precast Production

    Casting yards. Faster turnover of forms. Higher production throughput.

    // Who should specify

    Resources by role

    For Builders & Developers
    • Use Alpha Rapid when schedule is the binding constraint, monsoon recovery, prestressed elements, or infrastructure with completion deadlines.
    • Lead time: Standard 24-hour notice for M30-M40. M45+ may require trial mix.
    • Pricing: 8-15% premium over standard. Often offset by reduced overall construction time.
    For Structural Consultants
    • BOQ: "M[X] rapid-hardening RMC, ≥70% of fck at 3 days, IS 456:2000. Calcium chloride-free accelerator. From Alpha Concrete or equivalent. 3-day, 7-day and 28-day cube tests required."
    • Mix design code: AC-RP-[Grade]
    • Documentation: 3-day strength certificate, accelerator MTC, hydration heat profile, early-curing recommendations.
    For Site Engineers
    • On receipt: Standard slump test. Note higher concrete temperature (20-28°C — verify).
    • Placement: Standard, but place faster than usual due to faster setting.
    • Curing: CRITICAL. Higher heat of hydration. Wet curing within 2 hours of placement. Minimum 14 days continuous wet curing.
    • Stripping: Verify 3-day cube strength before formwork removal. Don't strip on assumption.
    // FAQ

    About Alpha Rapid

    For M40 (design strength 40 N/mm²), 3-day cube strength achieves 28 N/mm². Standard M40 at 3 days achieves only 16-18 N/mm². This is verified through 3-day cube testing on every batch.
