    Slump Test (IS 1199)

    // Definition

    A standard field test measuring the consistency of fresh concrete using a 300 mm slump cone. The collapse height after lifting the cone is the slump value.

    Procedure: fill cone in three layers, rod each layer 25 times, lift vertically, measure subsidence. Acceptance tolerance: ±25 mm of target.

    Workability

    The ease with which fresh concrete can be mixed, transported, placed, compacted, and finished without segregation.
