OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement)
// Definition
The most common type of cement, manufactured by grinding clinker with gypsum. Available in three grades in India: 33, 43, and 53 (compressive strength in MPa at 28 days).
OPC 53 is widely used in RMC for its high early strength. OPC 43 is used in general construction. OPC 33 is largely phased out.\n\nOPC produces more heat and shrinkage than blended cements. For mass or durability-critical work, PPC or PSC is often preferred.
