M-Sand (Manufactured Sand)
Crushed stone fines manufactured to act as fine aggregate. Replaces or supplements river sand and offers consistent gradation and shape.
M-Sand from VSI (vertical shaft impactor) plants has cubical particles and minimal silt, giving better packing and workability than river sand. Quality M-Sand conforms to IS 383 Zone II.
Naturally occurring fine aggregate sourced from riverbeds. Increasingly restricted due to environmental regulations.
Aggregate passing the 4.75 mm IS sieve — sand. Fills voids between coarse aggregates and contributes to workability.
The distribution of particle sizes in an aggregate sample, determined by sieve analysis. Well-graded aggregates pack densely with minimum voids.
